Nessma TV Builds Cost-Effective Tapeless Workflow on Omneon MediaDeck™ , Miranda Imagestores and SI Media Automation Suite

ROME, Italy — 15th April 2009 — Video Progetti today announced that Tunisian broadcaster Nessma TV, based in the capital city of Tunis, has purchased an integrated tapeless system based on two Omneon MediaDeck™ servers, Miranda Imagestores and SI-Media automation/mam/traffic suite of software. The equipment will support a new file-based workflow that streamlines post-production and simplifies playout of the station’s programming.

Video Progetti which is working as Systems Integrator provided the Omneon MediaDeck™ media servers, the first Omneon gear installed in Tunis, in a turnkey solution that also includes Miranda Imagestore 750 Master Control, Kaleido Alto multiviewer, Pro-Bel Pyxies video and audio router, Anystream Agility media converter along with the efficient SI Media suite of automation software.

SI Media software tools facilitate the ingest of content into the MediaDeck™ servers by enabling scheduled recording of clips on either a regular or one-time basis. It will also support file-based ingesting. The MediaDeck™ system is integrated with Avid editors via the Anystream Agility application, thus guaranteeing smooth editing workflow. Further, the SI Media Rec Line Tool provides an easy-to-use interface for creating and manipulating playlists, as well as scheduling clip playout from the MediaDeck™ servers.

These neatly integrated Video Progetti solutions have allowed Nessma TV to swiftly implement a cost-effective file-based infrastructure, which improves media handling and allows the broadcaster to get news to air more efficiently. FTP delivery of edited material to the servers for playout reduces pressure on editors, who are able to deliver packages faster and with greater confidence.
